WSET Level 3 Award in Wines

An advanced level course in wines for those working with wines or the serious wine enthusiast. Suitable for those who are experienced in wine and have WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits or equivalent wine knowledge.Entry to this course is determined by experience and an interview with the Course Director to determine eligibility. This course requires at least 7 hours of additional study per week and is a very rigidly tested qualification. Application does not guarantee acceptance in this course.Numbers are limited and study is demanding.Effort is rewarded and the class really can improve tasting and knowledge dramatically.


About the course

This course will develop to a high-level your ability to describe wine accurately, and account in detail for the style, quality and price of wines. Our experienced educators will assist you to develop your analytic tasting abilities through a carefully selected series of 0ver 80 wine samples.

Successful students will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin, and will be able to use the associated WSET certified logo.

  • How to make appropriate wine recommendations

  • Tasting and Theory examination study guide




Students should note that this is a demanding course and are advised to allow for adequate self-study and revision time. A minimum of 56 hours of study time is recommended, in addition to classroom attendance. The examination is by both Theory and Tasting examinations. A 55% pass is required in the tasting ,multiple choice and short answer section. You must achieve a 55% score  in all three sections of the exam to pass. If you are not successful in one part ( Tasting or Theory) you will need to re-sit either Theory (both multiple choice and short answer) or Tasting depending on which was not achieved.
